Is God Calling You?

Short Term Missions are a vital way in which we are able to spread the Gospel to all Nations (people groups). Going can change your worldview and help you understand the physical and spiritual needs of people everywhere. A trip to a foreign county also tells the local nationals that you really care about them (sharing Christ, by loving them one at a time). We cannot overestimate the power of personally praying with and loving people. Trips are also a vital part of our support and encouragement for our mission partners. I equate not visiting a mission partner to “sending your child to college, sending money, but telling them you are too busy to visit and see what they are doing and invest in their life”.
We are a nation rich in skills, we need to take these skill resources and train capable people in other nations to be self sufficient and provide for their families. Short term teams are sometimes able to accomplish things by opening doors that the mission partners are unable to do on their own.
As you know the U.S. has been hit with many disasters (Joplin, New York, etc.) and going to provide physical support and encouragement to people in these areas is a very powerful way to share the love of Jesus to hurting people. What skills do you have to share with someone in another state or country?
